Our professional quartet cellist with master and solo cello
A student of a professional cellist was trying out two of our cellos – the Maestro SE (Special Edition) and the Soloist III – and he took the time to write us that he was impressed. We want to share his thoughts
"Quartet Cellists Here - I recently had the opportunity to listen to and play Stringworks' Maestro and Soloist III models. I was impressed by both cellos: they have an open, engaging feel even throughout their entire range. The tone. The settings on both models are excellent. Explosive; notes speak very softly or loudly consistently (a challenge in the depths of winter); fretboard planing is accurate in all ranges; very easy to play. I My own cello eventually acquired these characteristics, but not until my local luthier replaced the original soundpost, bridge and endpin socket - quite a bit of extra cost! The description of the Celli's tonal personality in the staff ad is also spot on ;The Maestro is the darker model and the Soloist III is the lighter model. These Celli match and exceed playing instruments I have come across that cost twice as much. If this is your budget, you need to give this a try. -Ryan Ash , cellist of the Beo String Quartet.”
